Research theme

Energy and Water Exchange between the Atmosphere and Ground Surfaces

"We can estimate the amount of energy and water exchange for every meteorological condition and every surface situation !"
This is my urgent or final goal. In particular, we have studied the exchange on surfaces covered by snow and vegetation. Moreover, we are interested in coexistence of snow and vegetation. The study methods are mainly modeling and observation, however, data analysis is also conducted if it is necessary.

For snow-covered area, snowmelt and metamorphism are occured according to the meteorological condition. It is necessary to model snowcover because the effect of snow on the atmosphere also changes when snow condition changes
